Dinner at La Boca!

June 16th Santa Fe

Hello again!
Tonight we had a very exiting dinner! We went to a restaurant called La Boca!!!!!!!! We had tapas...... which means a lot of little tiny meals for sharing or something like that. Any ways, the food was incredible! My dad being the way he is, took lots of photos. So for my foody friends, here are the pix:

So the computer actually reversed the order of the pix, so we started with the one at the bottom, and ended with the one at the top. So the one at the bottom is a flat bread topped with pork, manchego cheeze, celantro, a red chilly sause and I can't remember what else. The seconde from the bottom is grilled eggplant w/ melted manchego cheeze, capers and saffron honey. The third dish from the bottom is the mediterranean salad w/ turkish apricot, olives, feta cheeze, honey vinaigrette and mixed greens. The forth dish from the bottom is the coco verde, which is baby spinich and garlic on flat bread with melted manchego cheeze. The one at the very top, is the ahi tuna carpaccio w/ blood orange ailolis, smoked sea salt and olives. YUMM!!!!!! Thay where all great, but my favorits where the salad and the coco verde. What a meal!!

canyon road

Today (well actually a couple of days ago...) we went on a very long stroll down canyon road, an street lined with art galleries. So I could go on about that forever, but instead, i'm going to talk/blog about my favorite part: the chocolate place! The chocolate place was actually called Kakawa chocolates. So we ordered the most amazing rose hot chocolate, a chocolate caramel walnut turtle, and a rose chocolate truffle. They where sooooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!! OK! Any ways, we interviewed one of the chocolate makers, and it turns out that she started as a visual artist, but switched to chocolates after an inspirational speech. And as it terns out, the two subjects are actually quite alike! They both work with layering, presentation, colors, etc. I really enjoyed that, and again i will try to post pix soon!

P.S. I miss you all so much!!!

The peacock cafe

Hello again! A little while ago, we went to the San Marcos cafe. So, your probably wondering why I rote the peacock cafe. Well guess what they had in front and behind the cafe? PEACOCKS AND TURKEYS AND STUFF!!!!!! THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE CAGES!!!!! It was sooooooooooo cool!! We got some great pix that i will try to post later, because right now, i'm on the hotel computer because my computer is being stupid again!!!!!! So the food was really good too, witch was nice there to because thats why we went to the cafe in the first place.

After the cafe we went shopping in Madrid. the stores are really cool and unique there, there's no aeropostal or gap there!

Each night after dinner, we have been going to this big park in the plaza. It's really pretty there and also, it's close to our Casita. ( little house) Actually, EVERY THING is close to our Casita witch is very very convenient.

OK, well that's it for now, but i will try to stop being lazy and post more =)

santa fe day 1

Okay so i wrote this a little while ago but any ways....

stuck in the airport!

So today we got up super early to board our flight to Colorado from Toronto. Then we waited to board the plain to Albequerqui. We where told out flight was delayed so we waited. Then we almost got on a plain but as they where checking our pass ports, they realized they had people boarding the wrong plain. So we went back to our seats. Some one had taken them. We sat on the floor. We where finally told to go on our plain so we waited in line for a bit but it started to thunder and lightning and rain, so our flight was delayed again. So now, were sitting on the ground, in line waiting to be told what to do. My mom is sketching me while I type and me dad is reading a book called ‘every lost country’ by Steven Heighton. Apperently is about a mountain climb gone wrong. Well that’s pretty much it for now, how’s Kingston? Is it raining there?

P.S. I GREAT BIG thanks to Miss Joannette for lending me her book “Shopaholic & Baby”, it has been keeping me occupied while I wait.

oopsy!!!

Sorry about not posting for so long, my computer was being stupid.

Aloha!

Hey guys!
I know you want to hear about something exciting, which kinda sucks for you, cause we haven't left on our trip yet!

But, here's something interesting that has absolutely NOTHING to do with traveling, but that's okay!
So, today, when my mom picked me up from school, (before we got in the car) my m
om warned me of the stink. Your problably wondering what the stink is, right? Well guess what?? MY DOG ROLLED IN A DEAD, ROTTING FISH!!! So guess what my dog smells like? DEAD, ROTTING FISH!!! So guess what that made the car smell like??? DEAD, ROTTING FISH!!!!!!! It was sooooooooooooo gross that i got out of the car and walked home, but it helps I live close to school. So here's a picture of Riley while he's still cute and not smelly:

So that was probably the most exciting thing I can think of that happend today.
